For passengers requiring additional support, WellWay offers door-through-door stretcher transportation using Broda® Traverza seating. This service is designed for individuals who cannot safely sit upright in a wheelchair and need additional positioning, stability, or mobility assistance during transport.
Depending on the passenger’s mobility needs, transfer requirements, and level of assistance required, WellWay provides one or two trained employees. Staffing levels are determined during scheduling to ensure safety and proper care.
Our staff can assist with transfers, including helping clients transfer in and out of bed, from bed to stretcher, and from stretcher to chair or wheelchair, when appropriate and disclosed at the time of booking. When only one employee is required, one additional passenger may ride along. When two employees are required, all seating is utilized for staff and no additional passengers can be accommodated.
Any complex mobility needs, stair carries, or heavy lifting requirements must be clearly communicated during scheduling so the correct staffing and equipment can be provided.
